This class is special for Somali-speaking families. In this Somali culture-focused class, parents come with their children to play, sing, songs, meet other families, and learn together. A licensed early childhood teacher provides fun learning activities for children birth to five years old whose home language is Somali. A licensed parent educator will talk with parents about parenting issues, child development, making friends, behavior, and more. A Somali Liaison staff person will be available to help out with anything that’s needed. The class will meet weekly for one and a half hours (90 minutes). Please refer to the chart above to determine your level based on the size of your family and your income. You will be able to choose one of these levels during the registration process. If there is something to learn, a two year old will find it! Two year olds are not babies anymore and they are not preschoolers yet. They are taking on new challenges everyday and classroom staff are ready and prepared for all the adventures. New words, new friends and new feelings are all part of the two year old's experience at school. This is a gradual separation class. Please refer to the chart above to determine your level based on the size of your family and your income. You will be able to choose one of these levels during the registration process. All families are welcome. No one will be denied participation due to inability to pay. Sibling care may be available based on interest for each class. Separate registration for sibling care is required and fees are based on the chart above.

Whether this is your first child or you have multiple, Summer ECFE classes are for you! Come in comfortable clothes ready to play with your child along with meeting other parents and caregivers. Classes will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting July 6th. Here is what is being offered along with a description so you can choose what would work best for your family! Tuesdays: Walk and Talk-Enjoy some exercise and get to know other parents, while discussing the joys and challenges of parenthood! Parents can join this group solo or children can come along and buckle up for a stroller ride or enjoy the scenery from a carrier. This group will be facilitated by a parent educator and will meet at Moir Park for a walk along the pathway. In the event of a rain day, the group will meet at Pond for an indoor group discussion and children will enjoy an ECFE classroom filled with learning experiences. This class will meet July 12th, July 19th and July 26th. Families in the Park- Come join the great outdoors with a licensed teacher! All young children up to 7 years old are welcome to come with a parent/caregiver to explore nature while singing and playing games at Moir Park (10320 Morgan Ave So). This class will meet July 12th, July 19th and July 26th. Wednesdays: Bridge to Preschool-Bridge to Preschool is a class designed to help children and families get ready to attend preschool in the fall. Classes will follow a modified preschool schedule that will include ease into the day/small group learning, morning meeting, large motor activities, snack, active learning, and ending with large group time. Parents/caregivers will discuss preschool readiness skills such as separation, routines, and ways children learn through everyday play experiences. This class will meet at Pond Center (9600 3rd Ave So). This class will meet July 6th, July 13th, July 20th and July 27th. ECFE Friends-Parents/caregivers and children can play and learn together in this fun class where the whole family, up to age 5, can join in a traditional ECFE class. You can expect adult/child interaction time, circle time, parent discussion, large muscle time and most importantly, a time to make friends! This class will meet at Pond Center (9600 3rd Ave So). This class will meet July 6th, July 13th, July 20th and July 27th. Please see the chart below to determine your fee level before selecting a class. The cost for each level will be listed when you register for a class. No family is turned away from registering for an ECFE class for inability to pay.
