  • 1 Year Old Movers-September to May

    This class will meet both 1st and 2nd semester (All School Year). Come with your one year old to explore their first classroom. Our licensed early childhood teachers provide toys and age-appropriate activities so your child will learn through play and exploration. There will be songs, books, art, and more. The adults will connect with our licensed parent educator to learn together and support each other. Classes will have parent education in the children’s classroom at the beginning and work towards gradual separation in another room later in the year. Children must be 1 by September 1st, 2024 to attend this class. Learning goals for this class are: The child will explore the classroom and learn through play. Parents/Caregivers will gain knowledge, skills, and resources about raising one year olds. Please refer to the chart above to determine your level based on the size of your family and your income. You will be able to choose one of these levels during the registration process. All families are welcome. No one will be denied participation due to inability to pay. IF you are registering at a fee paying level, one half of your payment will be taken upon initial registration and the other half will be processed mid-January. A receipt for each payment will be emailed to you after processing. You may cancel your class registration before January 1 and you will not be responsible for the second payment.
  • 2 Year Old Explorers-September to May

New words, new friends, and new feelings are all part of the two year old’s experience at school. A licensed early childhood teacher will set up the classroom for your child to explore sensory, art, and learning materials. Parents/caregivers will go to a separate classroom to talk with a licensed parent educator to discuss topics such as toilet learning, behavior, and cognitive growth. This is a separating class. Children must be 2 by September 1st to attend this class. The Thursday section of this class has sibling care available. Please sign up for sibling care when registering for the Thursday section. Learning goals for this class are: The child will independently explore the classroom and learn through play. The child will comfortably separate from their adult. Parents/Caregivers will gain knowledge, skills, and resources about raising two year olds. Please refer to the chart above to determine your level based on the size of your family and your income.     Newborns to 12 Months Come in comfortable clothes ready to sing and play with your baby. Our infant classroom is designed with you and your baby in mind. You will have the opportunity to meet other parents/caregivers with infants. A licensed parent educator will lead songs and games for you and baby as well as research based parenting topic discussions. Sleep, nutrition and self care are often discussed weekly. Families can join this class at anytime. This is a non-separating class. Learning goals for this class are: Adults will connect with their child and other families through play.   • Big Issues~Little Kids: A Safe Place for Parents to Talk

    Join us for this online parent discussion about challenging topics. Parents will learn alongside our licensed teachers how to give children the language and skills to talk about big issues, stand up for others, and have open conversations. Parent education discussions will cover anti-racist parenting, supporting gender identity, where babies come from, talking about death, and other topics that parents may find challenging to discuss with children. All families' culture, beliefs, and values are honored in this class. This class is for parents with children ages 0-8 years old. Learning goals for this class are: Parents/Caregivers will gain knowledge, skills, and resources about raising their child. Parents/Caregivers will feel more confident in discussing challenging topics with their child.   • Bloomington Adventurers

    Come to an early evening class and enjoy some one-on-one time with your 2 1/2 to 5 year old child. Part of the class you will get time in your child's classroom singing, doing creative activities and snack time. You will also have time to talk with other parents and a licensed parent educator. Parent discussions will provide support and topics such as helping my child deal with their emotions, encouraging problem solving skills in my child, bedtime routines and many more!   • Bloomington Movers & Explorers

    One and Two year olds together exploring their environment. The classroom is set up for discovery across all domains of learning. Come with your child to explore together and using a gradual separation approach, parents will meet with a licensed parent educator for topics such as social emotional development, motor, guiding behavior and other topics important to parents raising toddlers.     Play and Learn classes are designed to give you one-on-one time with your child. Classrooms are set up for discovery and hands-on learning. A licensed early childhood teacher will plan developmental activities such as playdoh, building, sensory, messy art, sing songs, and read stories that you and your child can enjoy together. Your child will also have time to run, jump, slide and crawl in our motor room. This is a non separation class.   • ECFE Friends

    Making friends is a new skill for our young children. In this class parents/caregivers and teachers will help the children begin to discover how to play with others. Our licensed early childhood teachers will focus on helping children play alongside each other, taking turns, and eventually learn to share. Learning activities in this class may include art, songs, sensory activities, and reading. This is a non separating class. Learning goals for this class are: Children will have parent support to navigate a classroom environment, peer relationships, and learning experiences.   • ECFE Summer Fun!

    Whether this is your first child or you have multiple, Summer ECFE classes are for you! Come in comfortable clothes ready to play with your child along with meeting other parents and caregivers. Classes will be on Monday-Thursday starting July 8th. Here is what is being offered along with a description so you can choose what would work best for your family! Mondays: Music and More-Come with your child to explore music, art, dance, and more! We will have time to sing, dance, and play instruments together. Families will also freely explore the classroom to discover art, dramatic play, and sensory experiences. Come dressed for fun and messy play! This is a mixed aged class. Class will meet at Pond Center (9600 3rd Ave So) on Mondays from 8:30-10:00am and from 10:30-12:00pm. Class dates are July 8th, July 15th, July 22nd and July 29th. Tuesdays and Thursdays: Bridge to Preschool-Bridge to Preschool is a class designed to help children and families get a school experience before the year begins. Tuesdays parents/caregivers will attend along with their child and spend time discussing preschool readiness skills such as separation, routines, and ways to learn through everyday play experiences. Thursdays will be child-only classes. Classes will follow a modified preschool schedule that will include some welcoming table activities, large group time, playground/gym time, snacks, and active learning. This class will meet at Pond Center (9600 3rd Ave So) on Tuesdays AND Thursdays from 8:30-10:00am. Children must be 3 years old on or before July 8th, 2024. Class dates: July 9th, July 11th, July 16th, July 18th, July 23rd, July 25th, July 30th and August 1st. Wednesdays: ECFE Friends-It is summer and time for some fun with other families. Come enjoy creative (probably messy!) activities both indoors and outside. You can expect adult/child interaction time, circle time, parent discussion, large muscle time, and most importantly, a time to make friends! This is a mixed age class. This class will meet at Pond Center (9600 3rd Ave So) on Wednesdays from 8:30-10:00am. Class dates: July 10th, July 17th, July 24th and July 31st. Families in the Park- Come join the great outdoors with a licensed teacher! All young children up to 7 years old are welcome to come with a parent/caregiver to explore nature while singing and playing games at Moir Park (10320 Morgan Ave So). This is a mixed aged class. Class meets at Moir Park (10320 Morgan Ave So) on Wednesdays from 11:00am-12:30pm. Class dates: July 10th, July 17th, July 24th and July 31st.     We offer free appointments to talk directly with a licensed parent educator about your unique parenting challenges, find resources or develop a plan that will fit you and your family.     Infants & Toddlers, you now have your own Play & Learn class! Play and Learn classes are designed to give you one-on-one time with your child. Classrooms are set up for discovery and hands-on learning. A licensed early childhood teacher will plan developmental activities such as young child safe sensory activities, homemade toys, sing songs, and read stories that you and your child can enjoy together. The room is set up for all areas of learning, even large motor mats! This is a non separation class.   • Kids in Nature

    Outside and learning…naturally! This outdoor class is focused on exploring and discovering. Math, science and language skills will be fostered through play. You and your child will spend time together discovering new ways of being outdoors with a licensed early childhood teacher. If the weather does not allow outdoor play for the full 90 minutes, the teacher will meet you at our Southwood Center to bring the exploration inside. This is a non separation class.     In this class you and your child will be able to enjoy activities that support a child’s ability to someday begin to read. Enjoy activities like names of animals and the sounds they make or writing in sand and shaving cream. Come and stay with your child during this all interaction class. This parent/caregiver class will focus on the topics that address the issues that are important to you in raising your young child from ages 0-8 years old. Come hear some new fresh ideas from a licensed parent educator and other parents/caregivers. Learning goals for this class are: Parents/Caregivers will gain knowledge, skills, and resources about raising their child. Your child will also have time to run, jump, slide and crawl in our motor room. This is a non-separating class. Learning goals for this class are: Adults will connect with their child and other families through play. Children will have parent support to navigate a classroom environment and learning experiences. The Tuesday section age range is 2-5 years old. The Wednesday section age range is birth-5 years old.     In this Latino culture-focused class, parents come with their children to play, sing, songs, meet other families, and learn together. A licensed early childhood teacher provides fun learning activities for children birth to five years old whose home language is Spanish. Parents will have time with a licensed parent educator to talk about parenting issues, child development, making friends, behavior, and more. A Latino Liaison staff person will be available to help out with anything that’s needed. The class will meet weekly for an hour and 30 minutes. Esta clase está enfocada en la cultura Latina, los padres vienen con sus hijos, juegan, cantan, conocen a otras familias y aprenden juntos. Un maestro de la primera infancia con licencia ofrece actividades de aprendizaje divertidas para niños desde el nacimiento hasta los cinco años cuyo primer idioma es el español. Los padres tienen tiempo de hablar con un educador de padres con licencia sobre temas de crianza, desarrollo infantil, hacer amigos, comportamiento y otros temas más. En esta clase enfocada en la cultura latina, los padres y sus hijos jugarán, cantarán canciones, conocerán a otras familias y aprenderán juntos. Un maestro de primera infancia con licencia ofrece actividades de aprendizaje divertidas para niños desde el nacimiento hasta los cinco años. Un educador de padres autorizado hablará con los padres sobre cuestiones de crianza, desarrollo infantil, cómo hacer amigos, comportamiento y más. Just like a preschool classroom this early childhood classroom is set up with learning centers, toys & activities that are focused on a 2 to 3 year old development.
