  • Bloomington Drivers Education Classroom - Fall

Bloomington Public School's Driver's Education program is now collaborating with A+ Driving School to provide students more classroom instruction options. These classes are for students not signed up to take it as a credit during their regular school day--high school credits are not earned. The first step in Driver's Education training is classroom instruction. Students must complete all 30 hours of classroom training. Students may register if they are currently 14 -1/2 year of age. After classroom instruction is completed, the student will receive a letter of completion and information about registering for the six hours of Behind-the-Wheel training. Once the student has registered for Behind-the-Wheel, a blue card will be issued enabling the student to take their state permit exam at a DVS exam station. The student will take the blue card along with the appropriate ID, social security number, corrective lenses (if needed), and fee to a Minnesota Drivers and Vehicle Services location. Transportation to the classroom instruction is the responsibility of the participant. A reminder letter will be sent prior to the start of class. Cancellations received 3 or more business days prior to the start of class will receive a refund less a $10 processing fee. Cancellations made less than 3 business days prior to the start of class will not receive a refund..
