American Red Cross – Lifeguard Training – Blended Learning
The 2025 Life-guarding Program prepares lifeguards to prevent, protect and respond to aquatic emergencies as well as provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illness until emergency medical services (EMS) professionals take over.
To participate in the Life-guarding course, participants must:

• Be at least 15 years old on or before the final class of the life-guarding course.

• Successfully complete the 2 prerequisite swimming skills evaluation:

• Swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, tread water for 2 minutes using legs only, swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.

• Swim 20 yards, submerge to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to surface, swim 20 yards on the back to return object to starting point, holding object at the surface with both hands and keeping face at or near the surface of the water, exit the water without using the ladder or steps.

• Attend and participate in all class sessions.

• Blended Learning Class: a link will be emailed one week prior to class beginning with online class curriculum. The online portion of the class (7 hours) must be completed prior to first night of class.

• Bring Swim Suit, towels, snacks, lunch, water bottle, writing utensil and paper.

* A minimum of 5 participants will be needed to run this class. *

Class Fee:  $300 (this is different than the catalog)
