Step into Preschool is designed for children who turn 3 after September 1st, 2024.
Ready, Set, Kindergarten is a four-week language and literacy-rich preschool experience taught by licensed teachers. Classes will include interactive read alouds, extended conversations, interaction around writing, and instruction of letters and sounds.
Step into Preschool is designed for children who turn 3 after September 1st, 2025.
Camp SAFARI is full-day childcare for youth entering Kindergarten through 4th Grade in 2025-26. Summit SAFARI is for children entering 5th and 6th grade in 2025-25. *Space is limited, site is not guaranteed.*
Kids' SAFARI is a before and after school program offered for children in kindergarten through grade 5. The focus of these programs is on school-age childcare and enrichment opportunities designed to meet the changing needs of children and families.
Preschool SAFARI is designed for families who desire an early learning education experience with a childcare component available. There will be a licensed preschool teacher giving preschool instruction for 2.5 hours during the day with a paraprofessional.
New for 2023-24, afterschool Targeted Services programming will now all be under one umbrella and called Fusion. It will be a 4 day a week program, Monday through Thursday from 2:45pm to 4:45pm.
Gift or Donation
Discover the wonders of nature with your child in this hands-on outdoor class! Through play and exploration, children will develop math, science, and language skills while connecting with the natural world. A licensed early childhood teacher will guide activities that encourage curiosity and discovery at Pond-Dakota Mission Park (401 E 104th Street, Bloomington). If weather conditions prevent outdoor play for the full 90 minutes, class will be held indoors at Washburn Early Childhood Center.
This is a non-separating class and does not have parent education.
This class will be offered both semesters with separate registration required for each.
Learning goals for this class are:
Adults and children will connect with each other through exploring nature activities.
Children will develop a connection to a natural area and notice the changes in it across the seasons.
Refer to the chart above to determine your fee level based on family size and income. All families are welcome. No family will be denied participation due to inability to pay.
