Intro to Game CodingSLAMGr. 1-3 Learn to create an interactive 2D video game using your FAVORITE characters. Choose Undertale, Pokemon, Nintendo, Minecraft, and even class characters like Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Sonic, and Mario! In the first part of camp, we will learn to use Scratch®, and in the final part of the camp, you will be walked through creating a maze game and picking which main character to use. This hands-on experience is a perfect introduction to science concepts like structural engineering, architectural design, physics, external forces, and more! Campers will move through advanced building exercises to learn the complexities of designing structures and investigate the impact of external forces. Star Wars Jedi Movie MakingSLAMGr. 1-4 From a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars comes to life! Work on a stop-motion animated Star Wars movie. Handle all the technical details, including using a digital movie camera, filming scenes, doing stop-motion animation, digital editing, adding finishing touches, special effects, and transitions to the movie. Our instructors will take your camper through the entire digital film making process from start to finish. Campers will be working in pairs. 3D Printing & CADSLAMGr. 1-7 This 3D printing camp takes students through the 3D printing process from start to finish. Campers will design 3D objects using TinkerCAD and use the 3D slicing program Cura to bring their creations to life. From industrial design and manufacturing to software and hardware engineering, the 3D printing industry is booming. This camp serves as an excellent introduction to 3D printing and is ideal for campers who like to draw, design, imagine and see their creations come to life. All supplies are included. Super Mario Game CodingSLAMGr. 3-6 This camp will give you hands-on experience developing your own game using Scratch® 3, a visual coding platform. Campers will learn to think like programmers and learn coding concepts while creating a 2-dimensional, arcade-style Super Mario Bros.-themed game. FullExtreme EV3: BattlebotsSLAMGr. 3-7 This camp will energize and excite campers by combining the LEGO® building system's versatility and Mindstorms EV3 (the most sophisticated microcomputer brick ever made by LEGO®). Working in teams, campers will construct fun LEGO® models, experiment with programs, and compete in robotic challenges. Robot building, block programming, and team work will be a part of each day's activities. Final challenges will be centered around hitting targets and a sumo battle.
