Bloomington Preschool is committed to preparing your child for success in kindergarten and beyond! Starting preschool is an exciting milestone in your child's life. Our licensed teachers set up classrooms to help children discover a love for learning while working on social emotional skills that will help get them ready for lifelong learning. Bloomington Preschool classes are for 3 and 4 year-olds. Children have both large and small group learning experiences in literacy, writing, math, music, art, and science. Again this year all students enroll for preschool using the same set of questions regardless of age or preferred site or time. The program administrators will then create a contract and place your child at a specific site/time based on your responses to the enrollment questionnaire. We offer Preschool for Four's 5 days per week (M-F) for 2.5 hours at Pond and Southwood Centers and Oak Grove Elementary, Valley View Elementary, and Washburn Elementary. To receive busing to Oak Grove, Valley View, and Washburn you MUST live or have a daycare address in that school's enrollment area. For students who live in any other Elementary enrollment area, the busing goes as follows: Four year old children who live or have a daycare address in Valley View Middle School and Oak Grove Middle School enrollment areas are able to bus to Pond Center. Four year old children who live or have a daycare address in Olson Middle School enrollment area are able to bus to Southwood Center. Step into Preschool is a class designed for children who turn 3 after September 1st, 2024. Children will get a taste of what preschool is like in this class. A licensed teacher will provide opportunities for children to work on social emotional, language and literacy skills through read alouds, conversation and singing with friends and adults other than their caregivers. Playtime on the playground and/or in the gym will be included throughout the day. Classes will be offered 2 days per week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30-11:30am at Valley View Elementary School. Registrations will be processed in the order in which they are received based on your child's date of birth. Children MUST be 3 years old and potty trained before attending class. Sliding fee scale applies. This class will be billed monthly. You will also be eligible for early preschool registration for the 2025-2026 school year when enrolled in this class.

"READY, SET, KINDERGARTEN!" REGISTRATION BEGINS WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12TH, 2025 AT 8AM Ready, Set, Kindergarten is a four-week language and literacy-rich preschool experience taught by licensed teachers. Classes will include interactive read alouds, extended conversations, interaction around writing, instruction of letters and sounds and phonemic awareness. Students must be age 5 by September 1, 2025. Transportation will be available. There will be a Meet and Greet for all families attending summer school on Monday, June 9th from 3pm-4:30pm to meet the teaching staff and see the classrooms. Classes will be held June 10th-July 3rd, Monday-Thursday from 9:00-11:30 am at the Pond Center (9600 3rd Ave S). There will be no class held on Thursday, June 19th (Juneteenth). Students must be able to be successful in a 1:10 Teacher-Student ratio setting, there will be no Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) support in the Ready, Set, Kindergarten summer program. Priority will be given to students who are currently attending 2024-25 Bloomington Preschool programs and will be attending Kindergarten with Bloomington Public Schools in 2025-26. Preschool is an exciting milestone in your child's life. Summer Preschool class registration opens APRIL 8TH at 8AM! Preschool summer programming at Pond Center is a four-week language and literacy rich preschool experience for children who will be in Kindergarten (Kamp Kinder) or in 4 year old preschool (Fantastic Fours) in the fall. This is a great opportunity to experience preschool with licensed teachers and an engaging curriculum. Parents with students in Fantastic Fours must provide students with their own transportation. Camp SAFARI is a full day school-age child care program for youth entering kindergarten through 4th grade. The philosophy of Camp SAFARI is to lead children to discover friendship, independence and confidence through art, music, sports, drama and recreational activities. The staff and program facilitates a warm and secure environment for channeling children's energy and meeting their individual needs. Camp SAFARI is located in the following buildings this year: TBD (will be posted in February). A light breakfast, afternoon snack and many fun activities are included in your tuition. *Space is limited, site is not guaranteed.* Summit SAFARI is for students entering 5th and 6th grades offering new and fresh opportunities that are geared for this age. We will have leadership opportunities, community service and so much more. This program will be held at Valley View Middle School.

On Fridays at Valley View Middle School we will have a partnership program with InSports. InSports is a nonprofit organization with a purpose to help kids participate in sports, regardless of financial barriers. InSports will be hosting games and activities, as well as social emotional lessons. Friday Partnership will be from 2:45-4:45 on Fridays for Valley View Middle School students only. Kids' SAFARI is a before and after school program offered for children in kindergarten through grade 5. The focus of these programs is on school-age childcare and enrichment opportunities designed to meet the changing needs of children and families.
