Parent education discussions will cover anti-racist parenting, supporting gender identity, where babies come from, talking about death, and other topics that parents may find challenging to discuss with children. This class will follow a traditional ECFE model including parent/caregiver & child playtime and gradual separation for parent only discussion. Bloomington Play and LearnBloomington 2021-2022 Early Childhood Family Education CoursesOur Play and Learn classes are designed to give you focused time with your child. Classrooms are set up for discovery and hands-on learning. A licensed early childhood teacher will plan developmental activities, sing songs and read stories that you and your child can enjoy together. Your child will also have time to run, jump, slide and crawl in our motor room This is a non separating class. We have two sections of this Play and Learn class, one that is focused on our littlest learners. On Tuesdays from 8:30-10:15 at Southwood Center, we have a birth to 5 year old class. On Tuesdays from 8:45-10:30 at Pond Center, we have a section for infants and young toddlers. Please refer to the chart above to determine your level based on the size of your family and your income. PopularECFE Summer Fun!Bloomington 2021-2022 Early Childhood Family Education CoursesWhether this is your first child or you have multiple, Summer ECFE classes are for you! Come in comfortable clothes ready to play with your child along with meeting other parents and caregivers. Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting July 6th/7th at the Pond Center and surrounding parks around Bloomington. Here is what is being offered when with a description so you can choose what would work best for your family! Tuesdays: ECFE Reboot-Are you new to ECFE, took a break or just been coming this last year during COVID. Come with your young child/children for a traditional playtime and parent discussion class. Classrooms are designed for learning with age appropriate activities. Licensed teachers will guide classroom activities and parent topics. Parenting your Infant with Older Children-You have a baby, but you also are raising older children. This class will focus on your baby and their development along with addressing topics like sibling relationships, parenting older children with a baby at home, etc. Come take a class with your baby and bring the siblings (2yrs-7yrs) and they will have their own teacher too. Fun activities, stories, learning activities will all be taught by a licensed early childhood teacher. When registering, register the infant for the class and the add sibling care for each older child who will attend. Wednesdays: Families in the Park (2 sections being offered)-Let's go on an adventure! Each week you and your children will meet our ECFE team of teachers at Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge (9898 Old Cedar Ave So, Bloomington). Register for the 8:45am or 10:30am class. Same class, just different times. Please see the chart below to determine your fee level before selecting a class. The cost for each level will be listed when you register for a class. Most of the class will be conducted outside rain or shine except in cases of extreme cold. If it’s too cold, we will be using a community based building to bring the outdoors inside. Class will be taught by a licensed early childhood teacher trained in nature based curriculum. This is a non separation class.
