Preschool summer programming is a four-week language and literacy rich preschool experience. Classes will be held July 8th-August 1st, Monday - Thursday from 9a-11:30a.
Camp SAFARI is full-day childcare for youth entering Kindergarten through 4th Grade in 2024-25. Summit SAFARI is for children entering 5th and 6th grade in 2024-25. *Space is limited, site is not guaranteed.*
Early Camp SAFARI is a full-day childcare for 3, 4 or 5-year olds that are currently enrolled in a Bloomington Public Schools Preschool program.
Kids' SAFARI is a before and after school program offered for children in kindergarten through grade 5. The focus of these programs is on school-age childcare and enrichment opportunities designed to meet the changing needs of children and families.
Preschool SAFARI is designed for families who desire an early learning education experience with a childcare component available. There will be a licensed preschool teacher giving preschool instruction for 2.5 hours during the day with a paraprofessional.
New for 2023-24, afterschool Targeted Services programming will now all be under one umbrella and called Fusion. It will be a 4 day a week program, Monday through Thursday from 2:45pm to 4:45pm.

Starting preschool is an exciting milestone in your child's life. Our licensed teachers set up classrooms to help children discover a love for learning while working on social emotional skills that will help get them ready for lifelong learning. Bloomington Preschool classes are for 3 and 4 year-olds. Children have both large and small group learning experiences in literacy, writing, math, music, art, and science.
Again this year all students enroll for preschool using the same set of questions regardless of age or preferred site or time. The program administrators will then create a contract and place your child at a specific site/time based on your responses to the enrollment questionnaire.
We offer Preschool for Four's 5 days per week (M-F) for 2.5 hours at Pond and Southwood Centers and Oak Grove Elementary, Valley View Elementary, and Washburn Elementary.
To receive busing to Oak Grove, Valley View, and Washburn you MUST live or have a daycare address in that school's enrollment area. For students who live in any other Elementary enrollment area, the busing goes as follows:
Four year old children who live or have a daycare address in Valley View Middle School and Oak Grove Middle School enrollment areas are able to bus to Pond Center.
Four year old children who live or have a daycare address in Olson Middle School enrollment area are able to bus to Southwood Center.

We offer Preschool for Three's 2 days per week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) or 3 days per week (Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays) for 2.5 hours at Pond and Southwood Centers. Parents/guardians must provide transportation to and from school, unless a child is on an IEP and qualifies for Early Childhood Special Education busing.
Children must be 3 years old as of September 1st, 2023 to attend Preschool for Three's.
We offer Preschool SAFARI classes for three and four year olds (mixed age) at Pond Center (AM & PM), Hillcrest (PM), Normandale Hills (AM & PM), and Westwood (AM) for those families looking for before or after class daycare. Children must be 3 years old as of September 1st, 2023 to attend Preschool SAFARI.
Children who are 5 years old as of September 1st, 2023 may potentially attend a 4 year old preschool class, BUT because they are eligible for Kindergarten, they are ineligible for the Sliding Fee Scale and will need to pay the full price Level 4 tuition and fees.
In order to complete the preschool registration checklist we also need you to register with the school district as a student and complete an Early Childhood Screening. These steps MUST be completed before your contract could be approved and your child placed in a class.
Preschool has a sliding fee scale available for families who have a documented financial need. All income must be verified in order to qualify for the sliding scale fee. Pathway 1 Early Learning scholarships area accepted. For more information on how to qualify visit the following LINK.
