What could be more comforting on a cold winter's night than your own preserves?  This is a terrific idea for one-of-a-kind homemade holiday gifts!  Many fruits, herbs and even veggies make beautiful, tasty jams and jellies.  Learn the difference between the various preserves and have the opportunity to taste several to find your favorites.  Discover the secrets of pectin to make perfect preserves and ideas to make your preserves unique.  Learn basic "hot water bath" techniques that are applicable to other canning projects.  You will prepare a batch of jam from start to finish and take 1-2 jars home to enjoy. Handout of recipes included. Class includes demonstration, hands-on and tasting.  Carol Schaub avid "kitchen creator", skilled instructor teaches in 15 districts.  $9 food fee paid to instructor in class.
