Camp SAFARI is full-day childcare for youth entering Kindergarten through 4th Grade in 2025-26. Summit SAFARI is for children entering 5th and 6th grade in 2025-25. *Space is limited, site is not guaranteed.*
Kids' SAFARI is a before and after school program offered for children in kindergarten through grade 5. The focus of these programs is on school-age childcare and enrichment opportunities designed to meet the changing needs of children and families.
Preschool SAFARI is designed for families who desire an early learning education experience with a childcare component available. There will be a licensed preschool teacher giving preschool instruction for 2.5 hours during the day with a paraprofessional.
New for 2023-24, afterschool Targeted Services programming will now all be under one umbrella and called Fusion. It will be a 4 day a week program, Monday through Thursday from 2:45pm to 4:45pm.
Early Camp SAFARI is a full-day childcare for 3, 4 or 5-year olds that are currently enrolled in a Bloomington Public Schools Preschool program.
You will be guided through a vinyasa style practice working with the physical body and breath. This is best for beginner to intermediate skill levels. Modifications will be offered for various abilities. Explore the numerous mind and body benefits while improving your quality of life. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat.
Andrea Kennedy is a YogaFit Certified Level 4 instructor and she is also certified to teach seniors and children. She has been practicing yoga for 20 years and teaching it for 15 years. Andrea teaches Hatha yoga with a Vinyasa style, which integrates physical movement and the breath. This will be her 12th year teaching yoga through Bloomington Community Education. Her exposure to yoga and its mind/body benefits has given her the understanding of how yoga creates mental and physical strength. Andrea offers a practical yoga class sharing breathing techniques, meditation ideas, mindfulness training and yoga postures. Yoga allows each individual student an opportunity to find calm, energy, mental clarity, motivation, and focus as needed. Enjoy the numerous benefits of a yoga class!
