American Canoe Association Introduction to Sea KayakingFitnessJoin American Canoe Association instructor Fred Linehan for a full day introduction to coastal sea kayaking. The class will be held on beautiful Bush Lake in Bloomington. This class covers basic strokes, maneuvers, boat control, landing, launching, equipment, gear, rescues and navigation. You can expect a safe and fun introduction to the sport. Class size is limited to 4 participants. We provide a sea kayak, spray deck, life jacket, paddle and nose plug. You will need to bring extra water, a hot beverage, sunscreen, hat, foot wear, warm clothing and a lunch. No cotton clothing worn on the water. Type 3 life jackets, provided for you, will be required in and around the water. This is a full day, one session class. Fred is an ACA Level 4 instructor and British Canoeing Sea Kayak Leader. Lynch Beginner Pickleball Round Robin PlayFitnessNew Class! The Lynch Beginner Pickleball Round Robin Play is the perfect way for students who have taken a Lynch Pickleball class to learn about tournament play. This class is designed to bring early stage 1.5-2.5 rated players into an informal, fun, yet organized round robin competitive play setting. Prior to the day's events, we will have a short 20 minute players clinic on strategy and pickleball rules. This will be a fun class for former Lynch Pickleball students to get comfortable with fun, competitive play and to meet students from other Lynch classes. Students will be grouped by like ability. The doubles round robin play is for BEGINNERS ONLY. And yes, you can sign up as a single player! There will be prizes and give aways. We'll match you up with a partner of like ability to practice various skills in a low key fun environment. Bring a water bottle and Pickleball paddle. There will be a few paddles for use in the class. Location of class will be at the Westwood Pickleball Courts. This is a beginner class. You'll learn the rules, scoring and how to play with fun lessons and drills. Pickleball is an active sport and requires hand/eye coordination and some level of fitness.
