  • 1 Year Old Movers-September to May

    This class will meet both 1st and 2nd semester (All School Year). Come with your one year old to explore their first classroom. Our licensed early childhood teachers provide toys and age-appropriate activities so your child will learn through play and exploration. There will be songs, books, art, and more. The adults will connect with our licensed parent educator to learn together and support each other. Classes will have parent education in the children’s classroom at the beginning and work towards gradual separation in another room later in the year. Children must be 1 by September 1st, 2024 to attend this class. Learning goals for this class are: The child will explore the classroom and learn through play. Parents/Caregivers will gain knowledge, skills, and resources about raising one year olds. Please refer to the chart above to determine your level based on the size of your family and your income. You will be able to choose one of these levels during the registration process. All families are welcome. No one will be denied participation due to inability to pay. IF you are registering at a fee paying level, one half of your payment will be taken upon initial registration and the other half will be processed mid-January. A receipt for each payment will be emailed to you after processing. You may cancel your class registration before January 1 and you will not be responsible for the second payment.

    This class will meet both 1st and 2nd semester (Year-long class). Come with your two year old to explore and learn together. New words, new friends, and new feelings are all part of the two year old’s experience at school. A licensed early childhood teacher will set up the classroom for your child to explore sensory, art, and learning materials. Parents/caregivers will go to a separate classroom to talk with a licensed parent educator to discuss topics such as toilet learning, behavior, and cognitive growth. This is a separating class. Children must be 2 by September 1st to attend this class. The Thursday section of this class has sibling care available. Please sign up for sibling care when registering for the Thursday section. Learning goals for this class are: The child will independently explore the classroom and learn through play. The child will comfortably separate from their adult. Parents/Caregivers will gain knowledge, skills, and resources about raising two year olds. Please refer to the chart above to determine your level based on the size of your family and your income.   • 2024 Bloomington Summer Community Musical: Disney's High School Musical

    Gr. 7-12 Registration is open for the Bloomington Summer Musical which will be held on July 25 at 10 a.m. (senior preview) July 26 at 7 p.m. and July 27 & 28 at 3 p.m. at Jefferson High School. No rehearsal June 19, July 4, 5. Open for performers entering 7th grade through graduating seniors. Tech crew will come to the first rehearsal on June 10 at which time a complete tech schedule will be determined.     Gr. 4-8 3D printing is here to stay! This camp is for campers who have no or limited experience with 3D printing and is ideal for campers who like to draw, design and see their creations come to life.= Campers will be learning the ropes of 3D modeling and printing and use TinkerCAD to design parts for their robots. By the end of the week, they will have 2 DC-powered robots--a sketch bot and a drive bot. Campers must be comfortable with using a laptop and mouse to design their creations. Bring a water bottle and nut-free snack daily.

    Gr. 4-8 3D Printing is here to stay and learning how it works is as basic as learning how to use a computer! This camp is for campers who have no or limited experience with 3D printing and is ideal for campers who like to draw, design, and see their creations come to life. Campers will learn the ropes of 3D modeling and printing. They will use the Engineering Design Process to design tools to create designs from scratch and choose two to print in class to take home. To allow everyone to print their creations, items may have to be scaled down to allow printing during the class times. Campers must be comfortable with using a laptop and mouse to design their creations. Bring a water bottle and nut-free snack to camp daily.

    Bloomington home owners who plan to sell their home are required to complete the Bloomington time-of-sale inspection prior to listing their house on the market. In this course, you will learn how the inspection process works, what the inspectors look for and how to best prepare for the inspection. You will also learn about well sealing requirements, radon testing and mitigation. After taking this course you will be prepared to ace the time-of-sale test!
  • Acrylic Pouring - Beach Wave

    New Class! Learn how to create fun and easy fluid art. Instead of paint brushes, we will use gravity to move the paint and different techniques to create two ocean-inspired pours. It's a lot of fun (and somewhat addicting!) and a great way to spark your creative energy. You will create two 8"x 8" canvases and transport them home in a provided tray. Your final piece will change during transportation and when it is completely dry.

  • All About Horses Summer Horse Camp

    Gr. 1-7 Learn all about horses from the experts! Horseback riding is a life-long sport that can be enjoyed year-round. In this special 3-day camp you'll learn how to care for and enjoy horses in this introduction to riding. Each day you will participate in a horse-related activity, along with crafts and games (all craft supplies are provided). The indoor arena allows the group to meet rain or shine. This camp is located at Dustin Freiheit Performance Horses in Lonsdale - 4804 Clearwater Trail, Lonsdale, MN 55046 (South on Hwy 35 - Exit 69/Northfield Exit - County Road 19 - Follow the signs). Parents provide transportation to and from the location each day. Parents are free to stay and observe! Parents must sign a release form prior to start date or upon arrival. Riders must wear long pants (preferably jeans) and closed-toed shoes. A riding helmet will be provided. Bring a water bottle and wear sunscreen. A prepackaged snack is provided by the stable. Parents are always welcome to pack a snack if they are more comfortable or if their child has allergies.
  • American Red Cross - Lifeguard Instructor Training - Blended Learning

    This course trains instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer courses. Age Prerequisite: Students must be 17 years old by the last day of the class. Certification Prerequisite: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification. Skill Prerequisites: Successful completion of Lifeguarding swimming prerequisites, demonstration of competency with Lifeguarding skills, and demonstration of competency when responding to scenarios involving rescues and emergency care. Students must complete the online portion of the course (2-3 hours in length) before participating in the water skills sessions. Once registered, information for accessing the online portion of the course will be emailed to the student, approximately seven days before the class begins. Attendance at all class sessions is mandatory, be prepared to be both in and out of the water each day.

    This comprehensive course is designed to instruct participants in the skills and knowledge needed to become a lifeguard. Course candidates will learn how to recognize, prevent, and respond quickly to aquatic emergencies. The course also instructs participants in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid. Participants will receive certifications in the above - certifications will be presented upon completion of attending all class sessions, passing all written exams, water skills and test. Prerequisites: Participant must be 15 years of age or older. • Ability to pass pretest. Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs. Complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds: starting in the water, swim 20 yards, surface dive, feet first or head first to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to surface and swim 20 yards on back with both hands holding object, exit the water without using a ladder or steps. Certifications received upon completion of course objectives and passing score of 80 percent correct on course final written exams. Lifeguard, CPR-PR with AED and First Aid are valid for 2 years.     Known as the Zumba “pool party”, Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting and laughing are often heard during a class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body toning and most of all fun! It is not your typical aerobics class; you will dance in the water at your own speed. Aqua Zumba is exercise in disguise.
